For work that needs to pay off

I need my work to make more sense to clients

"Good work can still look invisible if nobody can see what problem it solved."

Do this

Write problem, person, proof. Eleven minutes.

A portfolio full of "before/after" images assumes the viewer already knows what was wrong and why your fix mattered. Most of them don't. The work that actually lands isn't necessarily the best-looking work, it's the work where someone can tell in one sentence what was broken, who it was broken for, and what changed.

Three sentences, filled in honestly, does more for how your work reads than another round of polish.

Here's what it looks like filled in

Problem: The client's product videos were getting views but no add-to-carts. Person: A small skincare brand, first holiday season with paid ads running. Proof: Reworked the first three seconds around the product benefit instead of the brand logo. Add-to-cart rate went up 40% on the same ad spend.

Your turn — copy the template

Problem: What was broken or missing before you touched it?
Person: Who was it broken for? (Name a real one, not "the client.")
Proof: What changed after? Use a number if you have one.

One sentence each. That's the whole caption.
